Passionate about building ethical, interpretable AI to support healthcare and conservation.
I recently graduated with a 2:1 BSc (Hons) in Computer Science with Artificial Intelligence from Heriot-Watt University, and I'm starting an MSc Advanced Computing with Artificial Intelligence at the University of Stirling in September. I'm passionate about using AI to support healthcare and environmental conservation, with a focus on ethical and interpretable machine learning.
My strengths lie in developing robust AI models for image classification, working with real-world datasets, and applying explainable AI techniques, such as Grad-CAM, to support transparency and trust. I enjoy combining technical depth with meaningful impact, whether it's analysing medical imaging data, building tools that support biodiversity monitoring, or applying statistical learning in interdisciplinary contexts.
I also have experience with deep learning frameworks like TensorFlow, cross-validation techniques, model evaluation, and developing end-to-end research pipelines in Python.
My long-term goal is to progress into a PhD after finishing my Masters. Right now, I'm open to full-time or part-time work over the summer, and part-time roles alongside my studies from September. I'm especially interested in roles related to ethical AI, research, or applied machine learning that align with my values and interests.
My final year dissertation. A deep learning pipeline using DenseNet121, ECSA and Self-Attention to classify protein aggregates associated with ALS (a neurodegenerative disease). Evaluated with Grad-CAM and XAI metrics for interpretability and cross-class analysis.
View Project →A deep learning classification system for identifying garden birds from camera footage. Built using EfficientNetB7 with transfer learning and TensorFlow, and trained on a dataset augmented with flipping, rotation, brightness and contrast adjustments. Deployed on a Raspberry Pi.
View Project →Created lessons aimed at Second-Year high school pupils about AI & Data Science. Successfully delivered the first lesson at Falkirk High School.
View Project →A responsive personal portfolio built using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to showcase my background, projects, and skills. It features scroll animations, contact form integration, and a clean layout optimised for both desktop and mobile.
